2. Overview
We process personal data only to the extent necessary to operate this website, to handle your enquiry and – if you consent – to analyse how the website is used. Fonts are loaded locally from our server; no connection to font providers is established when you visit the website. We do not use social media plugins.
3. Hosting and server logs
The website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus; the servers are located in France. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.
When you visit the website, technically necessary data is recorded in server logs: IP address, date and time, requested address, referrer, browser and operating system. This processing serves the secure and stable operation of the website, in particular the defence against attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
To protect the administration area against unauthorised login attempts, we store a hash of the IP address for a maximum of 15 minutes after failed logins. In addition, we keep an internal security log containing the last 50 security-relevant events with time and IP address; older entries are overwritten automatically (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Consent and cookie settings
On your first visit, we ask whether you consent to the analysis of your website usage. Analytics services are only loaded after you consent; without consent, no connection to Google is established. We store your decision for twelve months in the cookie “ak_consent” in your browser so that we do not ask you again on every visit. This cookie is strictly necessary to respect your decision (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and Section 165(3) TKG 2021).
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. The legal basis for the analysis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TDDDG (Germany) and Section 165(3) TKG 2021 (Austria).
5. Google Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to evaluate the use of the website, such as pages viewed, time spent, device used and approximate origin. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Google Signals and ad personalisation are disabled.
The cookies “_ga” and “_ga_97XCW13KS0” are set with a maximum lifetime of 13 months. If you withdraw your consent, we delete these cookies in your browser.
The purpose is to improve our website. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists. A data processing agreement is in place with Google.
Analytics data is deleted after 14 months. Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded.
6. Contact form and initial call
If you contact us via the form, we process the information you enter: name, email address and, if provided, phone number, country of residence, target country, expected annual revenue, requested service, business model and your message. We also store the page from which you sent the enquiry and, to document your consent, the time of consent and your IP address. To protect against abusive mass enquiries, we additionally store a hash of your IP address for one hour.
The purpose is to handle your enquiry and to prepare and conduct the initial call. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request) and your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future.
Your details are stored in our own management system on our server, to which only we have access. You will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt by email. For the initial call, we will call you on the phone number you provided. We delete your data as soon as it is no longer required, at the latest three years after the last contact, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
7. Cooperation with service providers in the target country
If, after the initial call, you wish to implement your plans, we will, at your request, put you in touch with a specialised service provider in the target country, such as a company formation provider or a law firm. For this purpose, we transmit the details required to establish contact. The transfer takes place only at your request and with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR).
If the service provider is based outside the EU or EEA, the transfer is based on your explicit consent or on the fact that it is necessary to fulfil your request (Art. 49(1)(a) and (b) GDPR). These countries may not offer a level of data protection equivalent to EU law.
8. Email delivery
To send emails, such as the confirmation of receipt, we use the Mailgun service of Mailgun Technologies, Inc., USA. Processing takes place in the provider’s EU region. A data processing agreement is in place with the provider.
9. Appointment booking
To book an initial call, we link to the Calendly service of Calendly LLC, USA. This is a simple link; data is only transferred when you click the link and book an appointment. Calendly’s privacy policy applies to processing by Calendly.
10. Links to WhatsApp and LinkedIn
Our website contains simple links to WhatsApp and LinkedIn. These are not embedded plugins; no data is transferred to these providers when you visit our website. Only when you click a link do the privacy provisions of the respective provider apply.
11. Storage in your browser
If you select your country of residence in the tax treaty check, this selection is stored locally in your browser so that it is retained on your next visit; it is not transmitted to us. This storage is strictly necessary for the function you requested (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and Section 165(3) TKG 2021). You can delete it at any time via your browser settings.
12. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). You may withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future. An informal email to info@auslandskompass.de is sufficient.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your residence. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna; in Germany, the supervisory authority of your federal state.
13. Data security
All data is transmitted in encrypted form via HTTPS. Access to stored enquiries is restricted to administrators; stored enquiries cannot be accessed publicly.
14. Changes
We adapt this privacy policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
